Why Birdwatching?
The popularity of birdwatching has soared in recent years. It should come as no surprise; birdwatching offers remedies to many modern ailments. It gets you out of the house, into nature, and into a calm, meditative state. There’s no rush, no place to be, and no agenda. You never know exactly what you’re going to see, and even if you don’t find any “special” species, you still take a peaceful walk in a beautiful place. And once you’re able to tell some birds apart, you’ll be amazed at how many species were around you all the while that you never noticed! It will change the way you see the world.
Woody has been taking people on bird walks for more than a decade and has done birding trips to five continents. He loves to help people build relationships with the living world around them, a world often obscured by growing human impacts.
When he’s not out in the woods, he can be found playing in the house rhythm section for Vulf Records, where he has appeared on tracks such as "Funky Duck" and "Birds of a Feather."
